Case summary

Paula Marckx applied, on behalf of herself and her infant daughter Alexandra, to the European Commission of Human Rights in 1974 regarding rights related to the status of children born “out of wedlock”. The case was referred to the Court which found that Alexandra’s rights under  Article 8, and Article 14 (non-discrimination) read in conjunction with Article 8, had been breached.
